DONNELL SYSTEMS ADVOCATES USING INFORMATION WISELY

Donnell, who was a software services expert for mortgage banking before he started the company 1989, sees the shift from data to information, from IT to user, as a natural evolution. He draws a parallel between the power of printers at the invention of the printing press – a power that has shifted to publishers and authors – and the power of IT at the invention of the computer.

“At one point, the printers were the kings of everything,” he says. “What we’re contending is something that's founded in the evolution of a technology. We have self-awareness of what we are and what we’re doing” – knowing why the tool is used, not just how to use it.

“If you use your information wisely you take the pressure off IT and use IT wisely.”
