News Release: June 23, 2008 DONNELL SYSTEMS ADVOCATES USING INFORMATION WISELY
Donnell Systems has long led the industry in innovation. The company utilized Computer Output to Laser Disk (COLD) technology in early 1990s, before the technique became so widely used that it earned an acronym. While the industry today is focused on Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Donnell has pioneered a complete service model since 1993, appropriately calling it Solution-as-a-Service. Early adopters of the system saw OCIE as a way to reduce paper as a means of distribution and eliminate file cabinets and microfiche as an archive solution. The online service alternative reduced expenses and cost justified the change. The system increased information security and employee productivity while making information available over the network and the Internet for the first time. Since its inception, the company has promoted a “Re-use, don’t re-do” approach to data processing and information management. Online information retrieval in Fixed Content form eliminates the time and cost for IT to re-process a job. The DataDigger tool helps reduce search time, manual data entry and errors while allowing disparate systems to share information more easily than trying to program changes to those systems. The company pioneered the process-centric approach to document retrieval and organi- zation through DocVista® and CentricViews® – at least five years ahead of the forecast for this capability made by leading industry analysts at Gartner Group. Donnell is one of the first to offer high-volume, healthcare remittance processing in a production environment, where scanned checks and explanation of benefits (EOBs) are converted back from printed paper into data streams to automate the manual data entry needed to post payments and file away documents. < PREVIOUS PAGE | NEXT PAGE >
